VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Mesa North Central Little League is 100% run by volunteers, including field maintenance! The key to any successful Little League is a large number of quality volunteers and we are no exception. We are always needing good quality coaches, volunteers in the snack bar, help with field maintenance and volunteers in leadership position. Please see additional info below and if you are interested in volunteering to help the next generation learn to love baseball please email us with the subject line "volunteer".

1. Coaches - our league depends on parent volunteer coaches to lead practices and games for our players. Coaches must have a basic understanding of baseball, be positive and encouraging, consistent presences at games and practices and good communicators. Coaches for minors, majors and juniors will need to attend the player evaluation session at the beginning of the season before teams are formed. Additional coaching training may be required.

2. Board Positions - our board members make up the leadership group that shapes the direction of Mesa North Central Little League. There are many duties each little league must take on and organize and we are always in need of more people willing to volunteer their time in order to make our league better.

3. Field Maintenance - our home fields at HUGHES ELEMENTARY are 100% league maintained. From dragging and chalking the infield lines to mowing the tee ball fields grass, we are responsible for it all. The more help we get maintaining our fields the better they are for the kids to play on.

4. Snack Bar - Finding volunteers for our snack bar is always one of our biggest needs. If you or a family member can help out 1 night/week please email Melissa Lefevre and let her know you're interested!

5. Umpires - umpires are necessary for a minors, majors and juniors games. This is a paid position - umpires make $35 for home plate, $25 for field umpire and $50 for solo plate umpire. Prior umpiring experience is not necessary but pre-season umpire training is mandatory regardless of umpiring experience. Email Heather Brewer for more information.
